We are continuing to get the spaces in our home organized little by little. It takes so much time and I have to remind myself constantly to slow down and take my time to make sure I get things right for our needs. My personality is such that I tend to rush to completion for the sake of completing a task on my ever growing list. However, this year I am deliberately slowing myself down to organize and decorate with intention.
So, as I watch the Gilded Age I am planning my purchases and how I will organize the spice drawer and under the kitchen sink. My goal is neutral containers, a clean minimal look, and functional storage for our family. You should know we don’t cook a ton but like to have classic kitchen staples on hand. Additionally, we like to stick to a core set of kitchen and cleaning products we know work for our needs – and always have back up stock so I must plan for the amount of items we keep.
Spice Drawer Essentials
For our spice drawer, I have been thinking of two different looks and have order materials for both. Once they arrive I will test both out and decide what works best then. In both scenarios, I am using the Neat Method glass jars with gold lids and clean custom labels from Etsy (both pictured above).
For a classic kitchen stick to two or three materials. For this look, we are focusing on glass, gold, and bamboo. This will produce a spice drawer that looks uncluttered and modern with easy to spot spices when you need them.
Spice Drawer Organization Pro Tips
Once you have purchased your organizing supplies, it’s time to put it all together and style. First, it is best now to take a moment to purge your expired and non-used spices. See my post on refreshing your kitchen for step by step instructions.
Now you have a edited grouping of spices and can begin transferring to the jars and applying labels from the spice package! This will produce the very best spice drawer you will want to show off to everyone. Be sure to take a picture and tag me in Instagram with #abroadandabode so I can share with the community.
